Idit Lev28.1.10
On Wednesday a participant from Wadi Ara came to us. The Diagnostic Committee defined her as somebody who needs rehabilitation . She was referred by the committee to community service and to a rehabilitation plant. In this plant mentally ill people also work and it is hard for the Wisconsin plan participants who were referred to this plant, to work with them. Our participant and other women asked to work in a separate room and their request was accepted. Recently they were informed that starting on February 1st they will return to work together with the mentally ill people. The women again wrote a letter requesting to work in a separate room. As a result of this letter the Center called the participant who had come to us and complained. They want to send her to work in a place without transportation, a thing that will make her life much harder.
I am not dealing now with the principled discussion of mutual activities with mentally ill people , but I do think that in order to have such an activity there must be prior preparation and fear and prejudice must be dealt first.

Threatening a participant is not an appropriate way to deal with the issue and might cause the participant to lose her rights.
