Rabbis statement for the International Human Rights Day
Rabbis Gil Nativ and Moshe Yehudai together with Noga Eitan10.12.09
In recent years injustice in our society has strengthened. Insensitivity to the suffering of others, and abuse of the weak has spread. We all have to reject this in word and in deed, take action to correct the injustices, and work for justice, compassion and peace.
Amen, May it Be Your Will
Rabbis Gil Nativ and Moshe Yehudai together with Noga Eitan10.12.09
We rabbis from a variety of streams is Judaism, members of RHR, call upon all peoples and religions in the country, in the Middle East and in the whole world to emphasize in education, in speech and in deeds, the common denominator of all the monotheistic religions in the world – the basic equality of all human beings because God made us all in God's image.
We all are the descendents of Adam and Eve. Therefore all human beings are equal before God, however we call or describe God. Nobody is superior over another human being, and no human group is superior over another. Therefore, everyone of human born, wherever they may be, have the same basic rights to life, freedom and social and economical equality.
In recent years injustice in our society has strengthened. Insensitivity to the suffering of others, and abuse of the weak has spread. We all have to reject this in word and in deed, take action to correct the injustices, and work for justice, compassion and peace.
Let the verse of Psalms 145 be fulfilled: “The LORD is good to all; and God's tender mercies are over all God's works”.
Amen, May it Be Your Will
