UPDATE: ISRAEL’S HIGH COURT ORDERS STATE TO ENTER INTO PLANNING DISCUSSIONS ON THE FUTURE OF PALESTINIAN VILLAGE DKAIKA.

Court also ordered halt of demolitions in the village during the 90 days of discussions

In a hearing held today at the High Court of Justice where Rabbis for Human Rights represented the Palestinian village of Dkaika, the Court ruled that both parties (Dkaika residents and the state) must enter into discussions to find a solution regarding planning for the village residents. Meanwhile no new structures should be built in the village and no demolitions should occur. The judges also expressed criticism over the state’s plans to transfer Dkaika residents to the nearby Khmeida village when there is no public benefit or need.
