Mark your Calendar: Day for the Struggle Against Poverty at the Knesset on February 20

On Tuesday February 20th, in a tradition started in 2009, the Knesset will mark the Day for the Struggle Against Poverty in its halls. The event is organized by the Forum for the Struggle Against Poverty, of which Rabbis for Human Rights is an active member.

The day will be led by MK Eli Alaluf, chairman of the Labor and Welfare Committee and head of the War on Poverty Committee, MK Yakov Margi, Chairman of the Education, Culture and Sports Committee, and MK Aida Touma-Sliman, Chairman of the Committee for the Advancement of the Status of Women and Gender Equality. The conference will be attended by Minister of Welfare and Social Services, Mr. Haim Katz and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein.

✔️ 9:00-13: 30 — Discussions in Knesset committees on issues related to the struggle against poverty

✔️ 14:00 to 16:00 — Conference and panel discussion on the realization of rights as part of a poverty prevention policy

✔️ 16:30 — Major conference session marking the day of the struggle against poverty
