In the end of April 2014, after a decade of work, the High Court of Justice heard an appeal from Rabbis for Human Rights along with partners the village council of Dirat-Rafa’aya, The Jerusalem Legal Aid and Human Rights Center, The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, and The Society of Saint Yves- The Catholic Center for Human Rights, demanding that planning authority be returned to Palestinian hands for their own communities in Area C of the West Bank. At the hearing the judges indicated that although they would not force the state to accept our solution, the current status quo of discrimination and demolitions is unacceptable. They gave the state 90 days to come up with a solution.
The judges have scheduled a second hearing of the petition for April 12th.
