Press release: Entry refused to a Palestinian who was severely injured by a settler attack at the start of Yom Kippur.
By: Yariv Mohar
At the start of Yom Kippur, several Israelis attacked Abad al-Karim abu Ali, 57, from the Palestinian village of Machmas and, according to Palestinian reports, they then fled to the settlement of Migron. The attack was carried out with iron bars and stones. According to Palestinian reports, there were also soldiers standing not far away who did nothing to stop the violence. See the report and photos in the Palestinian News Agency -
Immediately after the incident, in spite of the efforts of a Palestinian field worker of RHR and those of a DCO officer, the injured Palestinian was refused entry into Israel and was sent to a hospital further away, in Ramallah.
In the village of Machmas, the season of the joint Palestinian-Israeli olive harvesting is due to begin soon, and this violent incident is another source of worry and fear for the safety of the harvesters.
Take part in the olive harvest together with RHR and ensure the safety of the olive-pickers.
