Blessings of peace, security and health for residents of the south of the country, living under rocket attack. This week our Legal Department succeeded in stopping a violent  trespassing into Palestinian lands near the village of Jalud. At the beginning The army ignores the violent takeover of Palestinian land next to Jalud by extremist settlers; following an appeal to the Supreme Court, it was announced last night that an order had been issued forbidding Israelis access to the area. This is another example that it is possible to fight for human rights and prevent injustice. Shabbat Shalom.

This week we witness a shocking coincidence. Every year that we mark the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin z”l, we read Parshat VaYera, in which we learn of the binding and rescue of another Yitzhak. Dvar Torah to parashat Va’year, written by Josh Weinberg, an HUC rabbinical student.

Rights in the occupied territories

Rabbi Yehiel Grenimann presents a provisional summary of the first two weeks of the olive harvest.  We have also attached to the post photos and impressions from last week’s olive harvest.  Volunteer for the olive harvest and ensure peace in the area.

Many people claim that the Palestinian olive harvest is used as a cover for terrorist activities.  We have summarized a clear answer to such statements.

Press release: The army ignores the violent takeover of Palestinian land next to Jalud by extremist settlers; following an appeal to the Supreme Court, it was announced last night that an order had been issued forbidding Israelis access to the area.  Zvi Struk, who has been convicted in the past of abusing a Palestinian youth was involved in the violent takeover of the land of Ibrahim Fauzi, a Palestinian farmer from Jalud.  Following an appeal against the army’s failure to deal with the incident, the Civil Administration announced last night that an order had been issued forbidding Israelis access to part of this area, and that action is being examined to end the takeover.  The appeal was presented by RHR on behalf of Ibrahim.
