The Bar Mitzva Bicycle Journey of Leo, as a Tribute to Rabbis for Human Rights ›

A wonderful tribute for Rabbis for Human Rights: Leo, a British Jewish child, decided that in honor of his Bar Mitzva to go on a bicycle journey fund raising for Rabbis for Human Rights. The journey raises funds for justice and peace. Until now Leo rode 72 KM on his bicycle and raised over 750 Pounds.

“Hello, I’m Leo and I’ve just cycled 72 km between London and a place called Ware, Hertfordshire (and back). I’ve raised £ 750 so far! I chose Rabbis for Human Rights, because their ambitions, and what they do, appeal to me, and I like seeing stuff like this done. I lived in Israel for 3 and a bit years and it is literally one of the most beautiful places in the world. But, then, you’ve got the dark shadow that clouds over this tranquility. This is the poverty of some Palestinians, who’ve had their land, source of food, and livelihood destroyed. To make Israel more brilliant would be to destroy this extreme poverty and to give humanitarian aid and practical aid to these Palestinians. And this is exactly what Rabbis for Human Rights do.”

Rabbis for Human Rights thanks Leo for his generous contribution and for choosing this wonderful way to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah! Mazal tov, Leo!
